WITH the changing rules on when and how to use toboggans on Mt Buller the following are just some of the safety rules which should be followed:
• slide safely;
• dress warmly with water resistant clothing, eg snow pants, jackets and suits;
• wear gloves to keep your hands warm;
• wear a helmet to protect your head;
• one person only per toboggan (under 100cm you can ride with a grown up);
• look before you slide – give way to anyone in front of you;
• no jumps or tricks;
• feet first – always sit – don't stand;
• quickly clear the area at the bottom to make way for the next slider;
• use the uphill path – don't walk on the downslope;
• follow all directions from the park staff;
• if injured ask for help.
Tobogganing can be loads of fun but staying safe and uninjured is priority.
Toboggans are provided at the parks and cannot be used elsewhere in the resort.
There are no restrictions for using toboggans on Mt Stirling.
