THE 2022 Team Buller Riders (TBR) winter program has commenced, highlighted by great early season conditions and record program numbers.
Well done to the Buller Ski Lifts on having their terrain parks open early, and so much terrain for our athletes to train on in the school holidays.
The Airzone also offers great acrobatic training to assist our athletes learn tricks safely before taking them to snow.
Established in 1986 and heading into our 37th year of training programs, TBR is a freestyle skiing and snowboarding club, specialising in the Olympic disciplines of mogul skiing, slopestyle/big air (ski and snowboard) and aerial skiing.
It has been an amazing 12 months for our alumni athletes, highlighted by Jakara Anthony winning gold in the moguls at the Beijing Olympic Games, and Scotty James winning his second Olympic medal in the snowboard halfpipe.
Jakara also won the World Cup mogul skiing title and was crowned athlete of the year at the 2022 Snow Australia awards.
TBR also recognises the great careers of mogul skiers Brodie Summers (3 x Olympian and World Cup medallist) and Sophie Ash (2022 Olympian) who both recently retired.
This winter TBR is excited for the return of competitions, with our first event being the Adams Estate Agents jNats on August 6, Mt Buller Slopestyle on August 13, FreeBOM August 20 and finally the spectacular ABOM Mogul Challenge on September 3.
Adding to the event this year is that dual moguls was recently added to the Olympic program for Milan–Cortina 2026, so be sure to watch the finals under lights on the Chamois run to see the amazing action and the highest level of athletes in action at Mt Buller including 2022 gold medallist Jakara Anthony and 2018 silver medallist Matt Graham.
