Australia’s Biggest Mountain Bike Festival Kicks Off In Thredbo

The most anticipated event on the Australian mountain biking calendar kicked off in Thredbo today, with 750 competitors already descending on the region.

With over $120k in cash and prizes up for grabs, Australia's only lift-accessed mountain bike park is set to buzz with racers eager to put their skills to the test.

The Osprey All-Mountain Enduro will launch a thrilling week of racing on Tuesday February 11, followed by the Fox Flow Motion Cup on Wednesday, the Maxxis Dual Slalom on Thursday and the Oakley Pump Track Challenge on Friday.

The main event, the RockShox Australian Open Downhill on Saturday will see over 550 competitors charge down the challenging Cannonball downhill course.

Spectators are then in for a treat with the Deity Whip Wars taking centre stage on Saturday afternoon at 5pm - the high-octane event always drawing a massive crowd for the air time tricks.

The official closing party later on Saturday evening is also set to be a highlight, featuring the popular Australian indie band Babe Rainbow.

With the biggest names in Australian mountain biking in attendance - including Troy Brosnan, Jack Moir, Sian A'Hern, Caroline Buchanan, and Kye A'Hern - all eyes will be on the battle for the coveted King and Queen of Cannonball titles.
