Austria Innsbruck

Known internationally as the “Capital of the Alps”, the cultural city of Innsbruck is the ultimate hub for a winter vacation. Having twice hosted the Winter Olympic Games and in some of Europe’s premier snow riding terrain, this Tyrolean capital is the gate-way to over a dozen ski enclaves. Skiers and snowboarders have access to more than 500km of stellar trails at heights of 2740 metres in the surrounding village resorts. The SKI plus City pass includes 13 ski areas, 22 sightseeing highlights, free ski shuttle buses as well as 3 public pools to rejuvenate in at the end of the day.

The free ski bus leaves the centre of Innsbruck and gets visitors straight to the slopes of resorts such as Patscherkofel and Axamer Lizum that cater for all abilities and families. Then there’s the Stubai Glacier resort, popular for free-riders and off-piste adventurers including cross country skiers, snowshoe hikers and paragliders. If it’s a stomach dropping buzz that’s on the agenda then take on the famous “Karrinne” run topping a 70% gradient. There’s no shortage of hair-raising crusades for the hard core riders with such a huge choice of terrain.

Stunning architecture, cultural events, historical wonders and access to a myriad of exhilarating trails, Innsbruck is the perfect package.
