Day 7 - Beijing 2022 Australian Preview

Strap in for a big day of Winter Olympic entertainment for Australian athletes where we compete in multiple events.

The big one is here with the men’s snowboard halfpipe with Scotty James and Valentino Guseli leading the aussie charge. This will be one of the highlight events of the whole games.

Plus we have Greta Small in the alpine skiing, Bree Walker continues her monobob training, the men’s cross country skiers will punish themselves in the 15km, short track skating and Skeleton will keep you entertained all day.

Snowboard Halfpipe Men

From 12.30pm to 2.00pm

Australia’s big chance at the podium with superstar Scotty James having qualified in 2nd place. He is up against strong opposition but is one of the best in the world. Teammate and debutant Valentino Guseli has been sensational and is a dark horse podium contender. Shaun White, Ayumu Hirano and Ruka Hirano are all superstars in their own right.

The final 3 runs will be simply awesome spectating. Buckle up for the ride.

Alpine Skiing

2.00pm Women’s Super G

Bib 34 – Australia’s Greta Small will race today in this 1 run only event. Alice Robinson from New Zealand is also competing in bib 16.

Bobsleigh Monobob

Australia’s Bree Walker will be training again today and is expected to be a contender in this event when it starts. Training starts at 8.10pm

Cross Country Skiing

6.00pm Men’s 15km Classic

Australia’s Seve de Campo, Phil Bellingham, Lars Young Vik and Hugo Hinckfuss will all compete in this gruelling 15 km event against the clock. Starting at time intervals, skiers try and set the best possible time and see if it holds up against the other racers.

Short Track Speed Skating

10.18pm Men’s 500m

Australia’s Brendan Corey will start in heat 2 with the best 2 athletes progressing to the next round. Action packed racing and highly entertaining.

Skeleton

12.30pm Women Heat 1 and 2.00pm Women Heat 2

Australia’s Jaclyn Narracott will start her 2022 Winter Olympic campaign in this exciting ice sliding event where racers go head first down the ice on a thin sled.
