September has delivered snow in abundance at Mt Buller with the resort covered beneath a thick white blanket of 25cms of fresh snow this past weekend – and it’s set to keep falling into Monday.
“It’s dumping and we are enjoying the kind of fresh conditions you’d expect in July, not during finals footy” said snow reporter Rhylla Morgan.
“We kicked off the season with record cover back in June, and we are grateful to Mother Nature for sending us out on a high note too. It’s not every year we slide into the last two weeks of the season with such good cover and so much terrain to explore.” she added.
Mt Buller is rolling 13 lifts including Summit, Wombat, Bull Run and Southside with advanced runs in the mix due to this top up of snow. The depth of 64-97cms of snow gives reassurance to skiers and boarders treating themselves to a snow holiday between now and 2 October.
“We were already seeing good numbers of bookings from families making the most of the Spring discounts during school holidays, but this ‘bonus snow’ is too hard to pass up so lift passes are being snapped up online this morning.” Morgan said.
Mt Buller is open for skiing and boarding through to Sunday 2 October with plenty of events on the resort calendar including a Festival of Footy, National Pond Skim Championships, Champagne Ice Bar, Live music and Kids’ Week activities.
