California Mammoth Mountain

Reigning high in the Sierra Nevada ranges, Mammoth Mountain Resort commands its place as one of California’s supreme snow holiday destinations. Why? It has the highest skiable terrain in the state, loads of natural snowfall and up to 300 days of operation. Mammoth Mountain is truly a giant with 3500 acres of terrain, 28 lifts that access at least 150 runs, 7 terrain parks and 2 super pipes.

And it doesn’t end there, over 30 kilometres of cross-country and snowshoeing trails, snowcat and snowmobile tours or amp up the squeal factor and zoom down the slope on the high-speed snow tubes. Beginners and intermediates can lay down tracks on wide open groomers and vast bowls. Tight steep chutes and rocking tree runs from the top of the mountain will more than satisfy the dare devils.

The Village and the town of Mammoth Lakes are accessible via free public transport and moving around is very user friendly. The accommodation is ample and varied suiting everyone’s needs and budgets and if a long lazy evening of apre skiing is on the cards, child care is also available. Mammoth Mountain is the epicentre of stellar snow paly, humongous choice and jaw dropping scenery with a good dash of California sun.
