Fernie

Fernie is the embodiment of the classic Canadian ski resort

Over 1000 hectares of magical terrain carpeted in legendary deep powder, this winter haven located in the Elk Valley region of South Eastern British Columbia is high on the skiers bucket list of resorts. The mountain is divided into distinct zones that give riders of all levels an abundance of variety. Wide open runs, bowls and tree skiing allows skiers and snowboarders to refine and develop their skills without the concern of crowded trails.

The five famous bowls of Currie, Timber, Siberia, Lizard and Cedar Bowl offer a plethora of powder terrain and at Fernie there are no friends here on a powder day, with locals showing an insatiable appetite to lap as many times as possible and feast on the legendary powder. For those with an adventurous spirit there’s no shortage of adrenaline fuelled riding to be had in the extensive glades, with drops, chutes and epic ridges.

The picturesque township of Fernie is a working town a only a short 5km drive from the resort and has accommodation for all tastes and budgets. Alternatively the ski village itself has ski-in ski-out options and is a quaint hub with delectable restaurants, cosy bars and a vivacious night life.

This is the value for money ski resort with a welcoming spirit and true soul.
