INTERNATIONAL snow travel has always been on the Australian radar, and rightly so as there is a world of mountains to explore and so many resorts to visit in one lifetime.

Travellers are always looking for great deals and Mogul Ski World are keen to reward the early bird buyer. They currently have exceptional packages including a variety of kids ski free deals, so enquire for more details.

Whistler

When you need to explain the word big in the snow world just mention Whistler. Two massive mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb side by side and both lead to the most beautiful of villages forming the biggest resort in North America. It is a true winter wonderland with long wide cruising slopes and with 1565m vertical it will test your stamina, as will the multiple steeps and chutes should you desire.

Off the mountain you have bobsled, zip line, extensive bar and restaurant options. Access is very easy from Vancouver, the exchange rate also favourable and the Epic Australia Pass is valid, just check for any restrictions.

Aspen Snowmass

Four mountains of Aspen, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk offer the skier every snow dream you have imagined. Waking to your view to Aspen Mountain you will be in awe of scenery and fall line all the way from the summit to the après bars in town. After all, they are very famous for their après.

But don’t let that take away from the snow and the skiing, it has everything. From ego corduroy, gentle cruisers from Snowmass Village or hiking Highlands Bowl, you will encounter a lifetime of memories from even the shortest stay.

Vail

The impressive flagship of Vail Resorts has a lot to like here. Walk from your front door in either of two village base stations and ski straight onto the lifts for a day of pleasure. Extensive terrain options from blue cruising corduroy, steep black runs to their legendary back bowls where you can float through the finest of deep dry Colorado powder.

With over 5,289 acres of which 29% is intermediate and 53% advanced, the choices are plentiful. At days end relax in a plethora of après bars and dine in the finest of restaurants with a vibrant village scene. Epic Australia Pass is valid, just check for any restrictions.

Niseko

Japan’s most famous Hokkaido powder awaits with abundance for a Niseko holiday which has been a mecca for Australian snow enthusiasts. If the thought of snow flakes the size of 50 cent pieces falling continuously from the sky appeals to you, then you have come to the right place.

The skiing is great, but this often means no sunshine for days or weeks on end if you need your vitamin D. A highlight is the culture and food which is just as spectacular as the snow in this scenic town that will see you sampling the finest food and perfecting your new language skills.

Utah – Ski Salt Lake City

The first thought you have as you drive up Little Cottonwood Canyon is someone should have renamed it big. But that is the canyon name next door and between them you have four world class resorts of Alta, Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton and all on the Salt Lake Ski City Superpass.

Alta is a skiers only mountain but don’t despair as Snowbird has more than their fair share of sensational terrain and boy do they each pack a punch when it comes legendary deep snowfall. With awesome views stretching at every direction it is hard to focus on the skiing which seems endless. Even a month holiday will barely touch the trail map. Super easy access from Salt Lake airport.
