Two winners for White Gold book giveaway. Enter now to win final two copies

The White Gold books have arrived at the SnowNews.com.au desk and what a fantastic read it is by author Jim Darby.

From Beijing gold all the way back to the 1969 Val d'Isère downhill, the new White Gold book covers Australia’s success in winter sports and how the sunburnt country took on the word in snow sports.

This is their story, and the story of those athletes who went on to achieve so much, from World Cup winning skiers like Malcolm Milne and Steven Lee to Zali Steggall, the first Olympic skiing medallist for her bronze in Nagano. From the aerial skiing trail blazers Kirstie Marshall and Jacqui Cooper to Olympic gold medallists Steven Bradbury, Alisa Camplin and Dale Begg-Smith all the way through to Lydia Lassila, Torah Bright and Jakara Anthony.

The skiers and the skaters and the snowboarders are here, like Scotty James, Tess Coady and Valentino Guseli and the sliders, Jackie Narracott and Bree Walker. If they have climbed an Olympic, World Championship or World Cup podium, their story is told here. The book also includes a history of Australia in snow sports from the downhill runs at Kiandra in the late 1800s to our first appearances at the Olympic Winter games.

Our SnowNews.com.au editor, Steve Cuff who attended 5 Winter Olympic games has numerous photos published in the book. Plus many other great photos from Mark Ashkanasy, Bill Bachman and Chris Hocking to name a few.
