THE ski season visitor attendance at Dinner Plain, Mount Hotham and Falls Creek was basically at record levels last season and obviously, the snowfall throughout the entire season together with an early start was just what the doctor ordered post COVID19.
The property market continues to be strong particularly at Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham with some considerable strength now being shown by the Falls Creek market.
Interesting real estate transactions at Dinner Plain and Mount Hotham include the sale of the Hotham Airport to the Grollo Group.
The Dinner Plain Hotel has recently been leased to Saltwater Properties Group and the good news is that it will be open this winter.
Leasing negotiations have now been finalised at High Plains Lodge which is now the prominent food and beverage venue at Dinner Plain.
The food and beverage at Mount Hotham continue to go to the next level with one of Australia's largest hospitably operators – Australia Venue Co (AVC) - taking on the lease of the Mount Hotham hotel formally known as Swindlers.
The other great news is the bus will operate from Dinner Plain to Mount Hotham this season and will commence early and finish later this season, making a great transportation alternative for staff and visitors to freely interchange between the resorts.
The Dinner Plain/Cobungra Polo was staged on Easter Sunday and was a great success after being absent from the venue due to COVID, the event will be held next year at the wonderful Cobungra station.
Venue operators are reporting a 20 to 30 per cent increase in accommodation stays at Dinner Plain, Mount Hotham and Falls Creek, which is extraordinary given last season was also a record attendance.
