VICTORIA'S highest alpine resort, Mt Hotham, has announced the release of a limited number of premium development sites located in the heart of the resort at Hotham Central Precinct.
Developers are invited to contribute to the next phase of Mt Hotham's visitor–centric expansion with the locations on offer described as premium parcels, with immediate access to the ski area, the resort's transport interchange, and existing commercial hubs.
The Hotham Central Precinct development builds on the resort transformation that began in 2020 and 2021 with construction of Alpine Gateway, a multi–level car park and day centre (still to be completed), a new biathlon facility, and soon to be followed by a world–class activity hub and snow play experience.
Mt Hotham Resort Management Board (RMB) chief executive officer Amber Gardner said Hotham Central Precinct is Mt Hotham resort's primary winter commercial, accommodation, leisure and recreation hub with ski lifts and ski runs directly accessing or accessible from the location.
Ms Gardner said the land parcels on offer are located in and around the current Corral Car Park area, which will be redeveloped to include a Village Square and public outdoor space, as well as a promenade.
She said four individual parcels in the precinct will each host distinct commercial offerings, enhancing community resilience and visitor experience and supporting the creation of an exciting village hub.
Ms Gardner said the development of this key area of the Mt Hotham resort will "finally realise the potential in our amazing village location".
"The 360 degree outlook across our resort and access to incredible year–round adventure activities from these development locations provide an exciting opportunity for developers with vision," she said.
With a year–round perspective, the project is also consistent with the resort's efforts to support climate change adaptation and sustained resilience of the resort.
Mt Hotham Alpine RMB has launched the opportunity via a competitive tender process, offering developers the chance to capitalise on some of the best land available in–resort.
