Huge line-up for autumn festival

THE Jamieson Autumn Festival returns this April 4 to 6 with a jam-packed schedule over three big days as the tiny township comes alive with music and a healthy dose of community spirit.

Kickstarting the full weekend of activities is a concert on the Friday night at the Jamieson Memorial Hall with headline act Lloyd Spiegel and feature performances by Lisa Baird and Tom Burnham.

A ticketed event, the Jamieson Night of Blues offers up an evening of entertainment with food trucks, a bar, a kids' treasure hunt and an auction of local produce and art rounding out the festivities.

With a courtesy bus servicing Mansfield at the more than reasonable price of $5 per head it would be wise to book your tickets now before they inevitably sell out.

Saturday is the main festival day with four stages of live music creating a festival type atmosphere alongside an arts and crafts market, a show 'n shine, food stalls aplenty and fun community games.

A strong line-up of performers has already been confirmed for the day with Gone Westerly, 2Easy Duo, Astrid Singleton, Mark Schneider, Hannah April Music, Ella Crathern and Wind Orchestra all taking to the stage.

Family-friendly activities include a designated kids' zone at the tennis courts with games like giant Jenga keeping the younger festival goers occupied.

The festival is made possible through the support of the Federation of Rural and Regional Renewal, the Community Bank Mansfield and District, the Mansfield Shire Council and the Social Inclusion Action Group.
