Twilight market returns to Tolmie

POPULAR with locals and visitors alike, the Tolmie Twilight Christmas Market is back in town on Sunday, December 18 from 4pm to 8pm.

Changed to a Sunday this year, in order to coincide with the Tolmie Social Club's opening hours, this year's event will be bigger and better than ever before.

With over 20 stalls booked in, there will be a range of goodies on offer for your final Christmas gift ideas.

Stalls include arts and crafts, boots and books, ceramics, photography, blacksmith and lazer–engraving; foods such as fudge, jams, chutney and hazelnuts; and kids activities for your Christmas tree decorations, as well as a Lego stall.

Light meals will be on offer by the Social Club, plus a sausage sizzle run by the Tolmie Recreation Reserve Committee as well as fairy floss, twisted potatoes and ice–creams to keep the family happy.

For the grown–ups to help get into the festive spirit, the Gin and Vodka Brewery will be present, as well as Tolmie's very own licenced premise, the Tolmie Community Social Club, which it is hoped, will be serving from their brand new bar and community building.

Recently constructed thanks to grant funding from the Mansfield Shire, contributions by both the Social Club and the Recreation Reserve Committee, as well as significant time and effort by Matt Adams of Clearwater Plumbing and Excavating, along with many hours of in–kind contribution by his small team of volunteers, the Tolmie Reserve now boasts a fabulous new community space which will house a purpose–built bar facility.

The building also provides a great space for protection from the elements in all seasons when in use by the club and for other community activities including on Tolmie Sports Day.

So go along and check out the changes, stroll around the stalls while having a drink and a meal and enjoy the fabulous Christmas entertainment by the MAD Orchestra who will be playing from 5pm.

And for the little ones, it is even rumoured that Santa just might pay a visit.
