KIDS were jumping out of bed at Mt Buller during the school holidays gleefully swapping school books for skis and snowboards in the sunshine.

On average 18 lifts rolled around the mountain each day with a very good snow cover and extraordinary early season conditions.

Lessons at the Ski and Snowboard School were humming with booked out classes and accommodation bookings in resort were the strongest recorded for this early in the season thanks to bumper early snowfalls and strong demand.

A cold snap was keeping the cover in great condition.
