Mt Buller prescribes a mountain escape this summer

MT BULLER is offering a 'booster shot' of fresh air and good vibes this summer – just what the doctor ordered for everyone who's overdue for an escape to the mountains.

Summer is just getting going up here in the High Country and there are perfect getaway options for everyone whether you want to head for the hills on foot, by bike, get a thrill from fast cars or just fancy a lazy long lunch.

As the mercury climbs in the valley in February and March Mt Buller and Mt Stirling offer a refreshing reprieve from the heat.

It is usually at least 10 degrees cooler in the mountains and fresher again if you take a dip in the crisp waters of the Delatite River.

The alpine resort is delighted to welcome locals and visitors back to the mountains.

"It's an ideal destination for a COVID–weary community," explained resort spokesperson Rhylla Morgan.

"There are some fresh new events this summer which are proving to be the perfect antidote to the past couple of years.

"Visitors love the new stargazing sessions, live DJ sets at summit, sunset picnics and chilled–out long lunches.

"It feels like a world away once you're up here and it's wonderful seeing everyone getting back to enjoying themselves as they unwind and relax."

The resort walking and bike trails are open and in superb condition following a major $1.25m overhaul that is getting rave reviews from the mountain biking community.

The recent Victorian Downhill Series booked out in record time and weekends are buzzing in the village with shuttles and bike clinics in full swing.

The calendar through to Easter has something for everyone with the Targa High Country (Feb 11–13), Sunset, Stars and Soul (Feb 5–6) and the Mind, Body Bike Women's Weekend (Feb 18–20) all coming up in February.

All events may be subject to change and checking listings on the Mt Buller website is recommended, as is booking accommodation and checking food and beverage offerings.
