Spurs goes retro and disco style

FOLLOWING extensive renovations over the summer period, Spurs Restaurant and Aprés Bar has taken on a new look, new atmosphere and is expected to become 'party central' on the snow this season.

A brand new flash bar and a DJ deck has been created above the entrance to Spurs.

Spurs also boats the biggest 'off–set smoker' (called the Iron Maiden) in the Southern Hemisphere which was installed a couple of years ago but due to COVID has not been used to its full capacity as yet.

The smoker is the primary source of cooking for the menu which includes barbecue sandwiches with pulled pork, brisket, chicken, buffalo wings and a range of sides including loaded sweet potato, pickled slaw and corn bread, mac and cheese plus more.

There is a new team of chefs who have all come from Adelaide.

Aaron Reid heads the team as head chef and has extensive experience in smoking.

Bridget Buswell, who has just returned from Canada, is the front of house manager and leads the service for the restaurant.

It is all table service as well now at Spurs, aiming for a real retro feel and they are trying to promote the Aprés party every afternoon.

With the DJ deck having a spectacular view over the ski fields, host DJs will be playing from around 5pm each afternoon.

Aprés skiing is when you start to slow down in the afternoon so you stop in for a drink or two, some food and wind down for the day, join the party and have some fun.

The updated Spurs was officially re–launched last weekend and is looking forward to a busy and fantastic 'Retro Season'.
