THE 'Into Our Hands' community foundation and Grow Myrtleford+ are inviting locals to gather for a festive celebration at the Twilight Christmas Carols by Candlelight on Sunday, December 22, from 5pm to 7.30pm in the Myrtleford Piazza.
Rudi Katterl will lead the sing-along and the inspiring 'With One Voice' choir will add their voices to create a memorable evening for the whole family.
Santa and his elves will also be making a special guest appearance, ensuring a touch of holiday magic.
"We've had incredible support from the community," said event organiser, Janine Milne.
"It's great to have such high community spirit.
"Rudi will be singing a balance of songs we all know and love as well as a healthy dose of Christmas songs.
"The evening will be all about getting the community together and celebrating what Grow Myrtleford+ is all about."
The 'Into Our Hands' community foundation was originally established in 2012, in response to the 2009 bushfires, with the mission to support recovery and resilience across North East Victoria.
Since then, they’ve invested over $1.5 million across 250 local projects, building a lasting impact within the Myrtleford community and surrounds to support liveability, community engagement and sustainability.
"We really needed a good plan to get the money back to the community, local businesses and families in their time of greatest need," Ms Milne said.
"We hope to have a few more of these benchmark events in the future.
"We've just had a round of registration for community grants with the aim to bring the community together and build local to grow local."
Fiona Nicholls, chair of Grow Myrtleford+, said the Christmas carols are more than a gathering.
"They’re a testament to the strength and resilience of our community and a chance to share the spirit of giving and unity,” she said.
