AS the gateway to Mt Buller and Mt Stirling, the Mirimbah Precinct has significant potential to assist the resorts increase year–round visitation, enhance their visitor experiences and build the regional economy.
Given the level of interest and opportunities associated with Mirimbah, the Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management Board has commissioned Urban Enterprise and Tract Consulting to develop a Mirimbah Precinct Master Plan.
The plan will act as a blueprint for coordinated improvements to services, facilities and future development over the next 10 years.
"The high amenity value of Mirimbah is underutilised and there's significant opportunity to activate the area year round as a hub for nature based activities celebrating the Delatite River," said Mark Bennetts, chief executive officer of Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management Board.
The Mirimbah Precinct is an opportunity to create a better sense of arrival to Mt Buller and Mt Stirling, marking the start of the mountain adventure and complementing the offer at both resorts.
Examples of some potential improvements are a new entry building with café and visitor facilities on the northern side of the road to better serve the park, camping, glamping, feature playground, walking and biking trails, and water play.
During the master planning of the Mirimbah Precinct there are opportunities for community input.
A short survey is available now at rmb.mtbuller.com.au to share your thoughts and ideas.
A draft master plan is anticipated to be available during September for feedback, prior to being finalised in November 2022.
