THE adrenalin will be pumping this winter at Thredbo as they kick into high gear for August and September events. There is something for everyone, even if you have not competed before. Just register for the event and enjoy the ride.
Thredbo Village Race Series
Each Wednesday - August 2, 9, 16, 23
The perfect community race for fun and healthy competition, plus a great way to develop your racing skills and race your mates. Taking place on Wednesdays throughout August, challenge yourself across a variety of Thredbo’s iconic race courses with a variety of terrain to test competitors of all levels.
The series is designed in a teams format and calculated over the four races to determine the village race series champions. Post-race gathering plus free drink at 3pm in the Schuss Bar and lucky door prize wins a pair of Rossignol skis each week! Winners are drawn randomly; you must be there to claim your prize. Overall fastest individuals announced at the final prize giving. Everyone is welcome, you just need a NASTAR registration number to race.
Transfer Banked Slalom
Friday August 11
The 9th Annual Transfer Banked Slalom is back for 2023 with limited entries, so be quick. The snowboarders’ day of days…this race holds a special place in the hearts of riders around the country and brings out the need for speed with a side of fun. All snowboarders are encouraged to enter – the creative course caters to abilities ranging from intermediate to advanced with a huge stack of prizes.
Battle Of The Bluff
Monday August 14
Carve out unique lines and match it with style down Thredbo’s unmatched freeride terrain. Whether it’s sending big drops or slashing the wave and wind lips, this is the comp to strut your stuff! Set to become Australia’s Premier freeride competition, take the opportunity to bring home a share of the 20k of cash and prizes from Oakley, Burton and Rossignol on offer.
Set to become Australia’s richest freeride competition, all Open Ski and Snowboard podiums will take home $1000 for 1st, $750 for 2nd and $500 for 3d place.
Thredbo Triple Crown
August 25 and 28
The final two events on the triple crown. The slopestyle provides a course with a mixture of jumps and rail features perfect to show your bag of tricks. The final Big Air is the time to go for glory! This showdown takes centre stage on the famous Q5 jump in the Monster Terrain Park. A huge $4000 cash prize purse on offer.
