Klytie Pate finishes on a high

THE Klytie Pate Ceramics Award and exhibition has come to a very successful close.

Congratulations to Pie Bolton, winner of the $10,000 Klytie Pate Ceramics Award for 2023.

Mineko Shimazawa was very excited to win the $1500 Valentina de Maria Emerging Artist Award and the hugely popular ‘The Fringe’ by Fleur Schell took out the $500 People's’ Choice Award 2023.

The judges also highly commended the works by Alison Smiles, Simone Fraser and Lea Durie.

Sincere thanks go out to the Klytie Pate Award sponsor, Will Twycross and Emerging Artist Award sponsor, Valentina de Maria and all sponsors involved in making the event such a success– MACE, Evan Lowing and Mansfield Shire Council.

The event could not go ahead without the judges who this year faced the enormous task of choosing the 37 finalists from over 120 entries.

Sincere thanks to Melinda Martin from Shepparton Art Museum, Rachael Arndt from Wangaratta Art Gallery and well known potter, Susie McMeekin.

And finally huge thanks to convenor, Kathryn Ruddick and the team who gave a huge commitment to the event, the volunteer exhibition sitters and to all the artists who entered the award.

The next Klytie Pate Award will next be held in 2025.
