Mt Hotham has plenty to offer

MOUNT HOTHAM'S summer event lineup invites visitors to mark their calendars for adventures above the clouds, showcasing challenging feats and immersive experiences.

With eight captivating events, the lineup is designed to engage visitors in bold and unique ways, with additional events to be revealed along the way.

Whether conquering exhilarating trails, tackling the pedal through the Great Alpine Road and beyond, embarking on challenging hikes, or savouring local delights, this event calendar promises unforgettable experiences for every adventurer.

Natalie Valentine, Mt Hotham Alpine Resort general manager, said the spring/summer season allows visitors to uncovering the hidden treasures of the alpine environment, with The Alpine Gateway day visitor centre the perfect base to explore the village, its trails and magnificent alpine environment.

"Our summer events aim to bring people together in the great outdoors - whether you’re a seasoned outdoor explorer or a relaxation enthusiast, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this summer,” Ms Valentine said.

At the heart of the excitement is Eats at the Peak - a new two-day immersive event on February 15 and 16 that celebrates local cuisine and live music, infusing a delicious twist into the lineup.

Trail running events are a feature over the 'green period', kicking off with the Great Southern Endurance Run, featuring four distinct distances winding through breathtaking landscapes, starting and finishing at The Alpine Gateway, on November 16-17.

The Razorback Run on March 15, 2025 takes participants along some of the most stunning ridge running in the Australian Alps, offering four distances, while the Alpine Challenge on April 12-14 is Australia’s toughest all-mountain trail run, taking participants through the breathtaking Victorian Alps across seven distances.

Other key events are the Australian Grand Traverse, a stunning 32-kilometre hike or run, leading through the picturesque Alpine National Park on February 22, and

the exhilarating 235-kilometre 3 Peak Challenge ride, with cyclists climbing over 4000 metres, tackling iconic ascents like Tawonga Gap, Mount Hotham, and ‘The Beast’ at Falls Creek on March 9 next year.
