THOSE dreaming of a white Christmas will have their wishes granted at Mt Buller these summer holidays with snow confirmed from December 27-31.
The resort can promise snowball fights, snowman building and snow angels as part of visitor’s summer experience between Christmas and the New Year.
“We love having snow play as part of the ‘cool’ summer offering during this special family time in the holidays, and to provide a white Christmas in Australia,” explained the resorts’ Chief Operating Officer Mark Bennetts.
“Our continued investment in snowmaking and the all-season capacity of the snow factories is what makes this possible.
"It’s a great way to sprinkle some alpine magic and fun into the village over summer and it’s free for everyone to come and enjoy.”
Mt Buller’s high-tech snow factories can make snow at temperatures of up to 25oC, so the local Christmas elves will be flipping the switch on Boxing Day and creating a pile of frosty magic for five days of snowplay.
All that lovely snow will then melt into and recharge into the environment.
The resort is ready to welcome visitors across the summer holidays with the walking, running and biking trails all open and in great condition for green season adventurers.
The bike network is scoring high marks from riders following the recent completion of significant refurbishments and improvements to the most popular trails.
Bike shuttles are operating, clinics, rental and bike spares are available in the village with All Terrain Cycles and Blue Dirt in full summer operations.
Summer events on the calendar in January include a celebration of the first sunset of the year on January 1, an intergalactic Star Fest guided astronomy weekend on January 5-7, a junior development mountain bike camp also on January 5-7 and the Send 2 Summit duathlon (ride & run) on January 27.
