Luke Fry Architecture and Interior Design launches studio

ONE of Australia's brightest young designers and owner of the eponymous studio, Luke Fry will expand his successful practice with the upcoming launch of his Mansfield studio, which will continue to showcase the refined, purposeful and design–led properties for which he is known.

Born and raised in Benalla, Luke has established family ties in the North East High Country region spanning generations, and his parents and brother still live there.

After 20 years of study and work in Melbourne, he and his family relocated to Mansfield, and opening a studio to represent this new chapter seemed a natural next step.

"I've always loved the area and have spent a lot of time there over the years," Luke said.

"We moved for lifestyle reasons, but the new office and projects are an unexpected bonus.

"Expansion into a new area has opened up possibilities, which has given the team and I new energy and excitement," said Luke, who will be building another family home in Mansfield in the near future.

"The rural, alpine areas provide beautiful landscapes and views in which to create amazing lifestyle–driven homes.

"Holiday homes are always special places for the owners as they act as a retreat where fond memories are created."

He hopes Mount Buller will become a strong focus given its vast potential in the residential, hospitality, retail and hotel/accommodation spaces, with projects already in the works.

Many of Luke's team have strong ties with the region, including their most recent staff member, Amelia Smith, who joined as a graduate architect and has a long–standing history with Mansfield.

Additionally, practice manager Joey Cooney has been connected to Mansfield for more than 40 years, as the owner of a wedding venue just outside of town.

Initially launching as a sole operator in 2014, Luke Fry Architecture and Interior Design has grown over the years, and now encompasses a practice of registered architects, interior designers and a dedicated business development manager, who have been the recipients of respected industry awards, including 'Best Residential Design Australia', 'Best Residential Interior Designer Victoria', 'Most Innovative Kitchen' and 'Excellence in Use of Steel' at the Building Design Awards.

With a career spanning 15 years, including positions at some of Australia's most renowned firms such as Rob Mills Architecture, Jackson Clements Burrows Architects and Travis Walton Architecture, Luke and his team specialise in new residential homes, heritage renovations, interior design and boutique developments with a focus on simple, yet strong materials.

With a unique "triple threat" skillset in architecture, interior design and construction (accreditation as a registered builder), Luke was recently a judge in Australia's Best House on 9Life.
